This is a student project
Bike Buddies is not real. It is the final project of Becky Miller, for her Masters in Service Design at the Royal College of Art in London. The purpose of this website is to present the idea and the branding to possible users of such a service.
Please feel free to sign up and look around the prototype website and social media pages of Bike Buddies. Read on to find out what data is used for the prototype. Becky is happy about any kind of feedback or critique - please do get in touch.
What kind of personal data do you collect?
Bike Buddies collects contact details of users including First name, Last name, Email Address, as well as personal information including age, gender and home postcode. We also collect data about users’ cycling habits and level, motivations, and regular and potential cycling routes defined by start and end postcodes.
Why does Bike Buddies collect this data?
This website and associated social media pages are part of a student project. The data collected through the sign up forms is being used to validate and develop the proposition, and is stored on a secure, remote, password protected server.
What are you doing with the data?
Bike Buddies will never share any information with any other parties without asking users first. If two users sign up whose cycle routes match, ie. one looking for a Bike Buddy and the other offering to be a Bike Buddy, then we may contact each user separately to see if they would be interested to test the bike buddying process for real with another user. However, we will never give any of your data, personal information or contact details to another user without asking you first.
How do I delete my account/data?
Please email if you would like us to delete your data from our records.
